Ocean and Coastal Sustainability
Australian oceans and coasts are threatened by the fragmented way we manage and govern the ecological and social processes that connect them; we do not have a clear path forward to ensure that these areas are healthy and resilient. Future Earth Australia proposes the creation of an Ocean and Coastal Systems Transformation Ten Year Strategy, which will outline clear, actionable strategies for achieving healthy and resilient oceans and coasts for all of Australia.
Reimagining Climate Change Adaptation
Reimagining Climate Change Adaptation extends a broader agenda of proactive and productive reform of climate adaptation, against a clear acceptance of the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Community Science for Sustainability
Communities know their sustainability priorities best. Tapping into our extensive network of partners with diverse expertise across sustainability issues, Future Earth Australia has partnered with AGU’s Thriving Earth Exchange to facilitate communities and scientists to work on community science priorities together to create actionable science.
Climate Risk and Equity
Future Earth Australia adopted a new focus area —Climate Risk and Equity— in November 2018 with a two-day event held in conjunction with Climate-KIC Australia and the Sydney Environment Institute at the University of Sydney.
