New fund to foster collaboration between early career researchers and professionals

Future Earth Australia has designed a new funding initiative to help students, researchers and professionals collaborate on Australia’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

Launching today, the Future Earth Australia Opportunities Fund is a competitive small grants program aiming to support early career skills development and collaboration across the sustainability and environment sector.    '

Two streams of funding are available to early career applicants wishing seize an existing opportunity to develop their professional skills, and/or develop a collaborative project linked to an outcome or recommendation in one of Future Earth Australia's national strategies.

Applicants can apply for the below funding streams:

  • Seizing Opportunities: Bursary grants from $200 to $1000 to help with professional skills development.

  • Creating Opportunities: Grants from $1000 to $5000 to support the development of a collaborative project linked to one of Future Earth Australia’s national strategy topics: urban sustainability, oceans and coasts, or climate adaptation.

Both funding streams open on the 30th of August and will be delivered in the coming months, outlined below.
