Future Earth Australia is proud to be among the 2026 recipients of Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia) grant funding.

As part of the approved flagship activities, Future Earth Australia will deliver a Symposium for Australia-Pacific early-career leadership for climate policy and science diplomacy. With the UNFCCC climate conference COP31 coming to our region next year, this symposium provides a timely platform to elevate the voices of emerging researchers from Oceania.

The Pacific has long stood as a beacon of leadership in global climate action, and 2026 offers the chance to place our region firmly in the spotlight.

We are delighted to partner with Dr Jemma Hill (Purandare), Juan Francisco Salazar, and Western Sydney University to deliver this important event, with heartfelt thanks to the Australian Academy of Science and the Theo Murphy Initiative for their support in making this opportunity possible.
