Lindau and Falling Walls learn about the SDGs

This week, FEA presented to a group of top ECR scholars on the Sustainable Development Goals and FEA's role in promoting them in Australia and the region.

SDG

The Australian Academy of Science played host to alumni of the Lindau Fellowship, a group of Australia’s emerging leaders in chemistry, physics and medicine who received mentorship from Nobel prize-winners in Germany, as well as the innovators preparing for the Falling Walls Lab Australia event, a competition for emerging Australian innovators to present their ideas, research and initiatives on the theme ‘Which walls will fall next?’

FEA worked with these excellent researchers and innovators to teach them about the SDGs, and ran an exercise to determine how each individual's research could align with many of the SDGs. Participants were often surprised how their so-called "niche" research applied so widely across the SDGs, and to meet participants from disparate field with overlapping interests around the SDGs.
